Honey Mask to Remove Dark Acne Spots

Okay, so in a few days, I’ll be turning 30. Yesss! It’s an exciting time :D! I am excited to learn and act more every day on personal growth as well as taking care of my skin. Now, I’m not going to sit here and lie to you about how much I take care of my skin because the truth is that I don’t. So I’m here to tell you about a little experiment that I’ll be trying for 7 consecutive days assuming that it will clear my dark acne spots. Firstly, I want to explain where I got this recipe… okay it’s easy I got it through Pinterest, my go-to for inspiration. I literally searched for how to remove acne spots naturally and although I saw soooo many natural recipes, the one that stood out to me the most was the 1 ingredient for this whole experiment (HONEY!). That is correct honey is the only ingredient I will be using to remove these acne spots. May I add that [Honey is naturally antibacterial, so it’s great for acne treatment and prevention. Aging: Full of antioxidants, it is great for slowing down aging. Complexion boost: It is extremely moisturizing and soothing, so it helps create a glow]. With this being said, my goal is to use honey as a face mask for 7 days, doing the following procedure in hopes of obtaining better-looking skin:

  1. Use about one teaspoon of high quality raw honey.
  2. Gently spread it over the entire face.
  3. Leave the honey face mask on for about 15-60 minutes.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm or cool water and pat face dry.

Of course it’s not perfection that I’m looking for, but instead, I’m in search of trying to make my skin look a lot better than yesterday. Plus, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on fancy creams so hopefully, this works out. Come join my 7-day journey and if it works on me … hope you too can try it and feel/notice a difference in your skin.

Note: I’m not a dermatologist or a skin aesthetician.

Day 1

Until next time. Thanks for reading. Love Melo!

Day 2

This is day 2 and it seems to have worked already because yesterday after washing my face my guy noticed that my face looked a lot more clear. He even said I was “glowing”. Mind you …I didn’t even mention to him what I was up to. So he had no previous influence over my honey facial mask.

Day 3

Okay, 3rd day here we go! In all pictures, I am wearing the honey. I will show the final results on the last day. It can get pretty messy so make sure to have a headband and hair tie to keep your hair away from a sticky situation.

Day 4

Currently on my 4th day wearing this honey mask and it’s that time of the month. I cannot complain though because at least I didn’t break out that much. Plus, I had 2 drinks last night which could be the other reason for that acne on my nose.

Day 5

I almost didn’t want to do it but, I think consistency is key so let’s hope my skin starts improving. Except I know I’m in that time of the month and have had a very unstable week, where half of my dinners have been healthy and the others not. Not to mentioned, I’ve also had a few drinks here and there. However, not complaining just making sure I’m aware of all the other details that may harm my complexion.

Day 6

Here we are, day 6! I’m excited to share tomorrows results of a clean, fresh face without makeup. Although you can’t tell from this last picture, the acne marks that I had from this weeks breakout are finally fading away. They used to be really dark but, the redness is somehow disappearing. Also, I’ve noticed my skin isn’t as dry as it normally is. When I lather my skin into honey I really feel icky but, once I wash my face everything smoothes out. It almost feels like a scrub but, be careful on the motion you wash your face.. try to do it gently in circular motions and of course pat dry once done.

Day 7

Yay the last day here! Turns out this is what it looks like, after lathering honey mask for 30 minutes, for 7 consecutive days. The results were okay, maybe they didn’t exceed my expectations because the redness of the last acne mark is still there. However, I realize this isn’t bad at all. Then again I noticed my skin isn’t dry and my pores don’t look like they have blackheads. Plus, my skin feels much cleaner when I do the honey mask. Thanks for reading. Hope this natural mask review helped you in any form possible. Love Melo!
